Welcome to the Town of Winchester/City of Winsted, Connecticut. We are a picturesque community that provides the best of both worlds at the foothills of the Berkshires. We have a downtown that beckons shopping and dining all within walking distance. We are home to Highland Lake, one of the largest lakes in the state, and a great summer respite. With walking paths and woodlands, Winsted is a great area for outdoor family activities such as hiking and biking and in the winter, close to major ski areas. We are also very business friendly with a full service water and sewer department and numerous ways to assist your business in order for it to grow and prosper. We are served by Connecticut RTE 8, which is a direct connect to the rest of Connecticut and beyond. We are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city for you to enjoy the peacefulness of our small community, but close enough to all of life’s modern conveniences.
