Probate Court
WINCHESTER PROBATE COURT
The Winchester Probate court, which serves the Towns of Winchester as well as Colebrook, has a variety of functions, ranging from the settlement of decedents' estates and the approval of testamentary trust accounts to the appointment of conservator ships and guardianships. It is also a Passport Acceptance Facility.
The Probate Court facility, consisting of a courtroom, records vault and clerk's office is provided by the Town of Winchester, being located on the second floor of the Town Hall.
Under the administration of Judge Alan M. Barber, the Probate court is open Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 to 4:00, Thursday from 9:00 to 7:00 and Friday from 9:00 to 12:00 and is managed by Patricia Fradette. Hearings are conducted on a regular basis on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and as needed on an emergency basis. The telephone number of the court is 860-379-5576.
