The Town of Winchester/City of Winsted possesses the Charm of a Village and Resources of a City. We are nestled in the mountains of Litchfield County and are within forty-five minutes of an international airport and two hours of New York City and Boston. We are in the region's major transportation corridor intersecting Route 8 and route Route 44. In addition, there are two traffic lights between us and the rest of the country by car.
Today, with a population of approximately 10,650, the Town serves as a regional sub-center, with its Main Street, Winchester Business Park and the Winsted Industrial Park serving as home to numerous merchants and manufacturers.
