Once again, the Board of Selectmen will be considering action on proposed revisions to two Town ordinances at their regular meeting scheduled for Monday, September 20, 2021.  The Board of Selectmen meetings are in-person  at 7PM in the P. Francis Hicks Room located on the second floor of Winchester Town Hall at 338 Main Street, Winsted.  Changes proposed are to the following ordinances:   Section 180  Anti-Blight, and Section 195   Noise.  At their regular meeting on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, the proposed language for the noise ordinance was modified.  Those changes incorporated into the draft can be accessed here.

At a November 6, 2018 town-wide referendum, a Town Charter change was adopted to eliminate the requirement of publishing the entire text and to eliminate the requirement for newspaper publication when considering future revisions to ordinances, instead allowing the publication on the Town’s website and any other place chosen by the Board of Selectmen.

These proposed changes currently pending before the Board of Selectmen may be found under a tab titled Legal Notices on the homepage of the website.  They are also included as a tab on the Town Clerk’s page and as tabs under the Board of Selectmen page.

While meetings currently remain in-person, all individuals attending should wear face coverings regardless of vaccination status.  Meetings are broadcast on local cable access station 194 as well as live-streamed on YouTube.
