Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Committee

The Town of Winchester has established a Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Committee to guide the development of a comprehensive roadway safety Action Plan. This effort is supported by the United States Department of Transportation's (USDOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All grant program, which helps communities implement Vision Zero strategies at the local level.

The SS4A Committee’s primary role is to provide guidance to a consultant who will prepare Winchester’s Action Plan. An Action Plan is a forward-looking roadmap that identifies the community’s most pressing roadway safety issues, sets clear goals, and outlines strategies and projects to address them. It includes short-, medium-, and long-term actions designed to reduce crashes, improve mobility, and position the Town to compete for federal and state funding for safety improvements. 

Committee meetings will provide opportunities for roundtable discussions, bringing together residents, Town staff, local officials, and community partners to ensure that the Action Plan reflects the needs and priorities of the entire community. Updates, meeting schedules, and draft materials will be shared on this page as the project moves forward.

The SS4A Committee is currently being formed. Meetings will occur on an "as required" basis, and once a consultant is selected, they may transition to a recurring schedule.
