The primary functions of this office are voter registration and party enrollment. This office supervises all elections, primaries, and referenda, and maintains accurate records of names and addresses of all voters in the Town of Winchester.
To register to vote, one must be a U. S. Citizen; a resident of Winchester; at least 17 years old (must turn 18 before election day); and have completed confinement and parole, if previously convicted of a felony. A registered voter may enroll in any party that he or she chooses, or may register as an unaffiliated voter.
Early Voting in the Town of Winchester will take place in the Registrars' Office at Town Hall in Room 203. The days and hours are as follows: Tuesday, March 26th (10:00 am- 6:00 pm) Wednesday, March 27th (10:00 am- 6:00 pm) Thursday, March 28th (10:00 am- 6:00 pm) Saturday, March 30th (10:00 am- 6:00 pm)
The Presidential Preference Primary is Tuesday, April 2, 2024. The cutoff to Register to vote and enroll if you are not currently enrolled in a party is Monday, April 1st by Noon (in person). The cutoff to register online is Thursday, March 28th and if registering by mail must be postmarked no later than March 28th.
The Winchester Registrar's will hold a registration session on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 9AM- 8PM for the purpose of registering to vote in the November 7, 2023 municipal election.
A final, limited registration session will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023. This session is to admit those seeking to vote in this election whose qualifications as to age, citizenship or residence was attained since October 31, 2023.
Both Sessions will be held at the Registrars' office on the 2nd floor for Town Hall, in Room 203.
