PUBLIC INFO MEETING: Bridge Replacements in Winchester
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is hosting a public information meeting about two important bridge replacement projects in Winchester:
White Street over Still River (Bridge No. 05126)
Grantville Road over Mad River (Bridge No. 05132)
Monday, June 9, 2025 | 6:30 p.m.
Hicks Room, 2nd Floor, Winchester Town Hall (338 Main St, Winsted)
This is your chance to learn about the proposed plans, ask questions, and share your thoughts. There will be a presentation followed by an open Q&A session. The projects aim to address structural issues and bring these bridges up to modern standards.
Key details:
- Construction is planned to start in spring 2027 (pending funding, permits, and property acquisition)
- Estimated costs: $9.7M (White St), $3.9M (Grantville Rd)
- Funded by 80% federal and 20% state funds
- There will be right-of-way impacts (permanent and temporary easements, grading, erosion/sedimentation controls)
