Governor Ned Lamont has activated Connecticutâs Severe Cold Weather Protocol beginning Sunday, February 22 at noon through at least Tuesday, February 24, due to a major winter storm expected to bring heavy snowfall and strong winds.
Anyone in need of shelter or a warming center is urged to visit 211ct.org or call 2-1-1 for available locations. Transportation assistance may be provided if needed.
Please take this storm seriously, limit travel if possible, and check on neighborsâespecially seniors and those who may need extra assistance. Pet and livestock owners should also take steps to protect animals from the extreme cold.
