Department of Public Works Project Manager Bart Clark has provided an update on the status of the water line project currently underway in Town.

Ludlow Construction has been working on Holabird Avenue, having installed temporary water service pipes and valves to allow the water main to be isolated there.  The contractor has been waiting for the delivery of the needed pipe and expects delivery of the necessary pipe by the end of the week.

Today, May, 19th, Ludlow Construction has begun installing temporary service lines in Center Street, Case Avenue, Greenwoods Avenue, and Thibault Avenue.  They will be working in this area through the end of the week.  If the pipe is delivered as expected,  they will stop working in this area and go back to working on Holabird Avenue.

The public is advised that temporary water lines narrow the roadway slightly so parking will be a little more difficult.  Residents and patrons of the downtown businesses are advised that they can use the Elm Street Fire House parking lot in order to park out of the construction area.

The patience of the public is very much appreciated as these infrastructure improvements are completed.
