TOWN OF WINCHESTER – PARKING BAN NOTICE
Effective: Sunday, January 18, 2026
Time: 1:00 PM Sunday through 8:00 AM Monday, January 19, 2026
Due to anticipated winter weather conditions and to allow Public Works crews to safely and efficiently perform snow removal operations, the Town of Winchester has declared a parking ban on all public streets beginning Sunday, January 18 at 1:00 PM and ending Monday, January 19 at 8:00 AM.
🚗 EXCEPTION:
Main Street ONLY is excluded from this parking ban.
Why Main Street Is Excluded
Main Street serves as Winchester’s primary commercial, transit, and emergency access corridor. Maintaining parking access along Main Street supports local businesses, ensures continuity for essential deliveries, and preserves clear emergency response routes while snow removal operations focus on residential and secondary streets.
🚙 Authorized Overnight Parking Locations
Municipal parking is allowed throughout the parking ban ONLY in the following locations:
Elm Street Lot (north of the firehouse)
Old Bank of America Lot
Pearson School Lot (off Wetmore Street) – parking along the left side only
All vehicles must be parked in a manner that does not interfere with plowing or emergency access. Vehicles parked outside of these designated areas or in violation of posted restrictions may be subject to ticketing and/or towing at the owner’s expense.
⚠️ Important Reminders
Vehicles parked on non-exempt streets during the ban may be ticketed and/or towed.
Residents are encouraged to relocate vehicles before 1:00 PM Sunday.
The parking ban is necessary to allow for curb-to-curb snow removal, improved visibility, and public safety.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep Winchester’s roads safe.
