Winchester Cooling Centers Now Open!

With the heat rising, Winchester has several cooling and charging centers where you can stay safe and comfortable. Whether you need to cool off, charge your devices, or just take a break, here are your options:

Town Hall (Francis P. Hicks Room) – 338 Main St.
• Mon–Wed: 8 AM – 4 PM
• Thurs: 8 AM – 6 PM
• Fri: 8 AM – 12 noon

Winsted Senior Center (Ages 55+ or Disabled) – 80 Holabird Ave.
• Mon–Fri: 8 AM – 4 PM

Beardsley & Memorial Library – 40 Munro Place
• Tues, Wed, Fri: 10 AM – 6 PM
• Thurs: 10 AM – 8 PM
• Sat: 10 AM – 2 PM

Local Businesses (open during their regular hours!)
Asa’s Place, Dunkin Donuts (3 Main St & 760 Main St), 
Winsted News, Kent Pizza, McDonald’s, McGrane’s on the Green, ABC Pizza, Northwest CT Realty

Note: Open Door Soup Kitchen is NOT currently open as a cooling center.

Cooling centers will also be available throughout the state. Anyone in need of a place to get out of the heat can locate their nearest cooling center by calling 2-1-1 or viewing the list that will be published online at 211ct.org.

Please check each location for specific hours and any requirements. If you have elderly neighbors or know someone who might need help, let them know about these resources!
