Payment of Fees Cash or Check Only
We have the applications on hand for those who want to become Notaries for no charge.
When applying to the State, the application fee has gone from $60 to $120.
We swear in newly appointed Notaries who live in the Town of Winchester for a fee of $20.00, as required by the State.
To register a change of name for a Notary, the fee is $15.00.
To register a change of address for a Notary, the fee is $15.00.
To notarize a document, the fee is $5.00 per signature.
IMPORTANT WARNING TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC: NOTARY SERVICES
Connecticut Town Clerks serving as Notaries Public are legally or procedurally restricted from notarizing certain documents. This office generally cannot notarize:
- Wills, living wills, and trust agreements
- Powers of attorney
- Land records, including deeds and mortgages
- Form I-9 employment eligibility verifications
- Vital records (birth, death, or marriage certificates, which require official certification)
